Title deeds continued

Hi there! Now I have been told I have to pay an extra 3500 Euros for my title deeds as the official office decided that my house was valued more than I paid for it. yes just like that some little narrow minded government worker decided that he would value my house as he pleased without even inspecting the property, little does he realise that if I want to sell my house I now have to sell for more than the market value and that means if I have to explain it, it goes like this. every time some little government worker decides that a persons house is worth more than what it really is, he is falsely increasing the values of property in Cyprus and therefore will increase the property prices until they are no longer affordable and then they will force the housing market into a downward trend and it will no longer be attractive for people to bring there hard earned cash to Cyprus. Typical of the Cypriot people they don’t think of the future same as there are no fish in Cyprus they just don’t think of tomorrow.

Well hey there people interested in moving to Cyprus, don't do it!!! Stay where you are, the grass Is not greener on the other side. These guys know how to take your money they invented ripp off...It is better to work in crappy UK and take more holidays, trust me it will be cheaper in the long run..

Eating in cyprus

Here’s something I like to write about, food. I will only tell you about the restaurants that I think qualify for a personal recommendation. My best is Fat Mama’s in Paphos the food is good, the portions are huge and the service is great. And if you like ribs well they have the best ribs I have ever had. Oh and the pricing is fair.

I have also tried out the new place called Uncle Sam’s and had a rib eye steak I was good I would say that I thought I was in the states, the meet was so tender and cooked to my request of med not overdone and not underdone just perfect. Everyone else totally enjoyed there food, the service was fantastic the staff where really friendly.

If you like Chinese food as I think everyone does there are many to choose from, like Chloe’s they have a few branches in Paphos I like the one in the new harbour front in Kato Paphos you can look out to the sea and the people walking along the new promenade as the sun sets, what a awesome sight. I have several dishes at all the Chloe’s restaurant and have enjoyed them all the service is great and well priced.

If you want to try something different, go to Oliveto in Paphos and try out there hot rock dishes it’s a blast and the kids love it. The food is good and the desserts are fantastic.

Driving in Cyprus

Well where do I start, I went to Thailand last year on short holiday and when getting into a taxi there I thought that my life was over, here it comes the pearly gates but after a day or two of moving round the island I began to see a pattern of organised chaos. The drivers all had the same polite crazy driving skills but not fast or reckless just chaotic.

This brings me to the driving in Cyprus, we went out last night for a meal and there was what looked like, all the bikers on the island going to meet for some thing, which is fine but the way they ride with no regard for other peoples safety, driving hopelessly to fast and almost causing several accident in the process. Let’s face it if they want to kill themselves that’s fine I couldn’t care less, but they do not consider that in the process they could kill innocent people, just shows there lack of common sense and there disregard for the safety of human life. And to top it all off not a policeman in sight, well I suppose it was Sunday night.

A few weeks ago I was taking a friend to the airport, I driving behind five other vehicles, in the front of the line was a pick up truck that had indicated to turn right, that’s why myself and the other vehicles did not attempt to over take, but along side me came a taxi driver flying past me on my right, bearing in mind this is a narrow road with only one lane for each direction of traffic, he must have thought he had a f1 McLaren and not just a normal Mercedes and of coarse he took out the pick up as he was turning right what a div he should have stayed on his donkey, as I drove past his main concern was he car he cursing that he had damaged his car and did not even pay any attention to the innocent older couple in the pick up just typical. I have seen so many accidents that taxi drivers have caused and did not care about the people they have injured and have had more concern for there cars.

For my conclusion when you come to Cyprus for your holiday you will have to make your own decision.

Thinking of moving to cyprus

Thinking of moving to cyprus, here are a few tips.
1. When you come on holiday and fall in love with Cyprus, which i am sure you will, as i did you might find yourself meeting up with a few property agents and they will try and sell you the moon, they will also make it sound like there is no other property around and that the house you are viewing will be snaped up if you don't take and you will surely miss the bargin of a lifetime, wrong!!!.There are thousands of property's for sale, the Cyprus market has to many house's and not enough buyer's. Therefore the good deals are out there for you to find, so if you decide to move over rent first and shop around for the house you wan't. Also bear in mind that most of the houses that the developers will show you will be houses they have designed for holiday rentals and not for long term living. They all look great and big and spacious until you move in and all of a sudden its too small, after all those four bags you had on holiday weren't your whole house.(more to be added)
